How to Get a Room Ready for Painters

A quick prep list that makes painting day faster and cleaner.

Clear what you can

Move small furniture, decor and wall hangings out. Push large pieces to the center of the room.

Mark problem spots

Point out cracks, nail holes and water stains so they're patched and primed before color goes on.

Plan for pets and airflow

Keep pets out of the room and plan to open windows. Low-VOC paints help, but fresh air still matters.
